The aircraft was being prepared for sale, and the seller needed a way to give prospective buyers a detailed, immersive look at the cabin, cockpit, and exterior — without requiring them to travel to the airport for an initial viewing.
About the Aircraft
The Bombardier Challenger 300 is a super mid-size business jet manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace, with a cabin measuring 6 feet 1 inch high, 7 feet 2 inches wide, and 28 feet 7 inches long. Configured to seat eight to nine passengers in a double-club layout, the aircraft features fully berthable seats, a full-service galley, enclosed lavatory, and 106 cubic feet of baggage capacity. Powered by twin Honeywell HTF 7000 turbofan engines, the Challenger 300 delivers a range of 3,065 nautical miles at a cruise speed of Mach 0.80 — capable of flying coast-to-coast nonstop across North America.
Project Scope
Our team captured the complete aircraft using Matterport Pro3 scanning technology and professional photography. The scan covered the full passenger cabin, cockpit instrumentation and controls, galley, lavatory, and baggage compartment, as well as exterior walkaround views of the airframe, engines, and landing gear. Professional photography documented the cabin finishes, seat condition, panel detailing, and overall aircraft presentation.
The Challenge
Scanning the interior of a private aircraft is fundamentally different from scanning a building. The cabin is a narrow, curved tube with highly reflective surfaces — polished wood veneers, leather upholstery, chrome fixtures, and multi-pane windows that create complex lighting conditions in a confined space. Every scan position must be carefully chosen to capture the full cabin without distortion, while producing a 3D model that accurately represents the quality of materials and craftsmanship that buyers expect to evaluate at this price point.
